With cold, crisp nights drawing in, the unmistakable smell of bonfires in the air and a sudden hankering for toffee apples, we know that Bonfire Night must be on its way. White & Brooks knows some of the best Guy Fawkes celebrations happen in West Sussex and here’s our list of the best local events to attend.

Barnham Fireworks Night, Saturday 5th November

Barnham Fireworks Night takes place at the community hall and promises to be a fantastically entertaining evening for the whole family. As well as a dazzling firework display, there will also be a funfair, children’s entertainer, food, drinks and a DJ.

Bonfire Night at The Kennels, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th November, Goodwood

The Kennels clubhouse is once again hosting its spectacular annual firework display. You can either book a spot out in the field or enjoy the display whilst tucking into a three-course meal in the dining room. Live music will take place out on the putting green and face painting is available for children.

Littlehampton Bonfire Night, Saturday 29th October

The Littlehampton Bonfire Society is once again holding its huge event at the end of October. Now in its 70th year, the evening starts with a grand torchlight procession through the streets, before the bonfire is lit and the fireworks fizz into the night sky. This is a massive spectacular that sees thousands of event-goers line the streets to celebrate, so grab your spot early.

Wizards and Witches Fireworks Night, Sunday 6th November, Fontwell Racecourse

Fontwell Racecourse is promising a sensational display this year. The theme is wizards and witches, and fancy dress is strongly encouraged from both kids and adults! Food, drink, fairground rides and a fantastic soundtrack will accompany what promises to be a great evening.

Anglesey Arms Bonfire Night, Saturday 5th November, Chichester

Whilst this pub in the quaint hamlet of Halnaker won’t be letting off any actual fireworks (so as not to scare any four-legged friends in the area!), its bonfire event includes live fire performances from an ensemble who come all the way from the Netherlands. Once the bonfire has been lit at 7.30pm, you’ll be treated to a live band to get you into the party mood.

Midhurst Rother College Fireworks display, Friday 4th November

With a brilliant selection of bespoke food trucks and a licensed bar, this fundraiser will include an amazing professional pyro-musical fireworks display. Tickets are cheaper if you buy them in advance, so make sure you don’t miss out!

St Mary’s Family Firework Night, Saturday 12th November, Bognor Regis

St Mary’s School in Bognor Regis is hosting a professional firework display this year. A great event for the whole family, there will be games on offer, food and drink stalls, and a DJ. Numbers are limited and tickets should be bought in advance online.

From the entire White & Brooks team, stay safe, wrap up warm and enjoy this year’s Bonfire Night!
