Remember, remember the 5th of November….yes it’s that time of year when we celebrate how Guy Fawkes spectacularly failed to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
West Sussex is home to some of the most stunning firework events in the South, with many raising money for community groups and local good causes. Here’s where you can watch the best bursts of colour and flickering flames.
Chichester Yacht Club – Tuesday 28th October
Go big and go early is very much the theme at Chichester Yacht Club. The team is putting on an event that’s especially suitable for families looking for an early start. Its joint Halloween and firework party is being held on Tuesday 28th October, kicking off with spooky fancy dress party from 4pm, with fireworks over the harbour at 7pm. Bognor Regis Golf Club - Friday 31st October
Bognor Regis Golf Club will once again hold its firework spectacular in 2025. Taking place on Friday 31st October, it’s perfect for anyone who isn’t fussed by Halloween. Doors open at 5pm, with fireworks from 6:30pm. Food stalls and warming drinks will be available throughout the evening. Be quick, as this ticket-only free event gets fully booked super quickly. Fontwell Park - Saturday 1st November
If you can’t choose between Halloween and Guy Fawkes night, you don’t have to. Fontwell Park is hosting a dual themed event on Saturday 1st November, with free parking. Gates open at 4:15pm, with plenty to keep the kids occupied before the big finale. Thrill seekers of all ages will love the family-friendly fun fair rides and live fire eaters, while the children’s best Halloween fancy dress competition will lend a spooky air. Rowlands Castle - Saturday 1st November
The Rowlands Castle Association is taking over the recreation ground on Saturday 1st November to put on a traditional fireworks display. The build-up starts at 5:30pm, with small rides, food and drinks, with the pyro professionals taking control at 7pm. Chichester Harbour - 1st, 2nd and 5th November
Chichester’s waterways present a unique vantage point from which to watch fireworks, and this year there is a series of organised paddles at Chichester Harbour on 1st, 2nd and 5th November. Fluid Adventures invites those with some paddling experience to hire a single or double kayak and head out onto the water at 7pm, from where they can admire a sky full of stars and rockets. The Fishbourne Centre - Friday 7th November
The Fishbourne Centre and adjacent playing field will be a riot of sound and colour on Friday 7th November when it holds its annual Guy Fawkes event. As well as fireworks (8:30pm), there will be the lighting of a traditional bonfire (7:30pm) and a fairground (open from 5:30pm). The event runs on a donations basis, and there will be treats, food and a fully licensed bar. Click here for details.
West Dean Gardens - Friday 7th November
The sky over Chichester will be ablaze on Saturday 7th November and some of the most bright sparks will be over West Dean Gardens. The autumnal trees will provide a stunning backdrop between 6:30-9pm, with the fireworks starting at 7:15pm. Food and drink will be available, with parking in the gardens car park.
