With Father’s Day just days away, it’s time to book those last minute tables and treats if you want to make your Dad feel truly special. West Sussex has plenty of pubs, cafés, restaurants and attractions to choose from, whatever your Dad’s age or interests. Here are a few of our favourites to try:-

Dining & Drinks

The Lamb Inn

Head to West Wittering on Father Day’s as there’s something free on offer! The Lamb Inn is running a promotion with Amstel Bier so when Dads order a pint on 19th June, they get a free pair of branded socks. There’s a beer garden and mouth-watering food menu too - booking is advised.

Boston Tea Party

Voted the most ethical café in the UK, Boston Tea Party in Chichester’s Baffins Lane is one of the best places to start your Father’s Day. Sunday opening hours are 8am until 4pm, and it’s a dog-friendly venue if you need to take man’s best friend along.

Boat House Café

Why not opt for some waterside brunch or lunch dining for a spot of brunch or lunch at the Boat House Café at Chichester Marina? The views across the water are amazing, especially if you manage to book an outside terrace table.

Sizzling Pubs

Affordable but just as appetising, the Sizzling Pubs group is giving Dads a free pint this Father’s Day. You can choose from The Wheatsheaf or The Southdowns in Bognor Regis. A word of warning, you will be spoilt for choice as the menus are more than extensive!

The Bosham Inn

Part of the Vintage Inn group, The Bosham Inn in Bosham is consistently a family favourite. It is running a special three-course set menu across the whole Father’s Day weekend, as well as offering a brunch option on Saturday and Sunday from 9am. Dads will also be treated to a complimentary gift.

Carluccios

If you don’t fancy pub grub or a traditional roast, then go all out and spoil that special man in your life at Carluccios in Chichester’s East Gate Square. It’s a White & Brooks favourite, and the Italian dishes are delicious. For Father’s Day, the restaurant has platinum ‘wine flights’ on offer too!

Attractions

Players Classic Car Show

Is your Dad crazy about cars? Then this is the Father’s Day event for him, being held at Goodwood Motor Circuit. The Players Classic show will display a huge array of cars from the UK and Europe, old and new, taking place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June.

Amberley Museum

Make a day of it by heading to Amberley Museum near Arundel. On Father’s Day, it is holding a special Emergency Services Day, which will showcase a collection of both vintage and modern vehicles, together with a programme of demonstrations. Dads get free admission.

West’s Wood Fair

Another option for a fun-filled weekend is West’s Wood Fair in East Dean. You’ll be amazed by the demonstrations that showcase the many ways in which wood is used. There will also be falconry displays, a ‘for fun’ dog scurry and axe throwing. Is your Dad a cider drinker? Sign him up to the event’s scrumpy drinking competition.

Aldingbourne Country Centre

Enjoy a day outdoors combined with a hearty meal in the Quarry Café at Aldingbourne Country Centre. A two-course meal is available for £14.95 for adults and just £6.95 for children, including a free bottle of beer for the Dads. Feeling competitive? There’s also a welly wanging competition to participate in.

Beer & Gin Festival

A great option for older families, The Wilkes Head in Eastergate is holding a Beer & Gin Festival from 16th to 19th June, which will see over 20 real ales, 20 gins and 6 types of cider on offer (plus some stomach-lining food in preparation for the tipples). There’s the added bonus of live music on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th, from 7.30pm.
