Come and join us for some summer fun for all the family this August Bank Holiday at Goodwood Racecourse.

White & Brooks are delighted to be sponsoring a race on Friday 26th August, and will be taking the teams from both our Chichester and Bognor Regis branches with us to celebrate the successes of the year so far.

What can you expect?

The three-day event is one of the highlights of the local calendar for people both living in and visiting the Chichester area.

It kicks off with a bang, quite literally, with a Friday-night firework display after the sun goes down and the last race is run. Over the course of the weekend, you’ll see both competitive and amateur jockeys saddling up to take home the top spots in their respective events, ending with the ever-popular pony racing on Super Sunday.

But if you aren’t a horse racing fan, there is still plenty going on for all tastes. During Saturday and Sunday, the gates open late morning and complementary fairground rides will be operating for big and little kids alike. There’s also a petting zoo, face painting and circus skills tutorials.

If that doesn’t keep you occupied, there’ll be plenty of live music and several delicious food stalls, bars and restaurants to keep you full.

Good(wood) to know tips

One of the best things about this Goodwood event is that under 18s go free!

Even better, there’s a free return shuttle service available from Chichester train station. Make sure you get there early, however, as the last inbound shuttle service is just after 1pm and the last return service to the train station will be no later than an hour after the final race.

Goodwood is a cashless venue, apart from placing bets, so please make sure you are prepared. In terms of dress code, comfort is key although three-piece suit and fascinators can be worn, especially if you’re in the more formal Richmond Enclosure. And do check the forecast before leaving home.

Tickets start from £12 per adult, per day, in the Lennox Enclosure, where you’re also permitted to bring a camping chair and a picnic (but not alcohol, which will be available to buy in the enclosure).  Of course, we encourage you to enter White & Brook’s competition to win free tickets!
