As the summer holidays edge even closer, we thought now would be a good time to remind you of the wonderful attractions and activities that Chichester and Bognor Regis have to offer for families.

Whatever the weather – because, let’s face it, summer does not mean guaranteed sunshine – we have thought of everything!

Indoor

Air Arena trampoline park
Especially good for rainy days, instead of bouncing off the walls while stuck inside, why not jump for joy on more than 74 trampolines at Air Arena in Chichester? The venue holds special sessions for toddlers and those with learning or physical difficulties, as well as holding disco nights and birthday parties! There’s also a tasty café on site.

Out of Bounds
A little further afield over in Angmering, but definitely worth it, is Out of Bounds - an all-weather entertainment centre. Visit and you’ll find bowling, soft play, laser tag, a climbing wall, adventure golf and jumping pillows.

Westgate Leisure Centre

Bad weather won’t stop you from enjoying the water at Westgate Leisure Centre. There is a splash pool for the smaller ones, as well as a 33m swimming pool for the big kids and adults, plus a fun water slide.

Outdoor

Arundel Wetland Centre
Get closer to nature and spend a day exploring the wonderful Arundel Wetlands Centre. Take the day at your own pace, book onto the boat safari or attend one of the many demonstrations. For children in particular, why not go along during a Junior Wetland Ranger Day so you can all learn about what it takes to care for the environment and local wildlife?

Harbour Park
Based in Littlehampton, Harbour Park gives you the option to enjoy the beach as well as a wide range of modest rides, attractions and arcade games. With the park’s 1-Day Go unlimited wristbands, the kids can have all-day fun for less. A new on-site soft play recently opened too.

Jungle Paradise

Go a little crazy at Jungle Paradise crazy golf in Hunston, near Chichester. There are 18 holes to play, putting across desert islands, around lagoons and through caves and waterfalls. Try your hand (or foot) at footgolf too and take a break with a drink or snack from the kiosk.

Chichester treasure trail
For just £9.99, you can turn a mundane shopping trip to Chichester in the school holidays into a fun treasure trail for the kids. Only one purchase of the guide is needed for multiple people to play, and you can complete the rail around your own schedule. The two-mile route around the city is great for teaching children about the Chichester area too.

Beaches

Don’t forget, our coastline is filled with some of the most beautiful, award-winning and dog-friendly beaches, so when the sun shines, make the most of it! Please ask White & Brooks for our sea and sand recommendations.

Events

Chichester Rotary Dragon Boat Race

Whether you want to get a team together or watch the ‘oarsome’ fun, head down to Canal Wharf in Chichester from 10am on Sunday 3rd July for the Dragon Boat Race.

Circus Zyair

The circus is returning to Oaklands Park, Chichester from Wednesday 20th July to Sunday 24th July, with eight performances to choose from. This 90-minute show promises to be action-packed and high energy.

Golf at Goodwood

If you have a budding golfer in the family, why not send them to a three-day junior golf camp at Goodwood? Running throughout the summer holidays starting 18th July, from Monday to Wednesday, the course’s fully-certified PGA professionals will help children learn a new skill and make new friends.

The Children’s Trust Supercar Event

Experience a once-in-a-lifetime thrill ride in a world-class supercar at the famous Supercar Event at Goodwood Motor Circuit from Friday 22nd to Saturday 23rd July. Family tickets start from £35, plus booking fee, although children under 4 go free! During the event, there will be a wide range of other attractions to keep the family occupied.

If you’re still looking for places to go and events to attend in West Sussex, drop in to one of our branches and our team will share their recommendations with you.
