Don’t tell December but we think November is the best month in the year for events and entertainment! From rockets to reindeers – and everything in between - there’s a host of happenings across Bognor and Chichester this month. Here are some White & Brooks recommendations.
1st November – Diwali Dinner
The Indian festival of light is being marked at Mewsbrook Park Café on Hendon Avenue in Rustington, with a gourmet celebration on Friday 1st November. The venue opens at 6.30pm, with a two-course meal served from 7.30pm. On the mouthwatering menu is chicken jalfrezi, butter chicken and vegetable rogan josh - all served with turmeric rice. £12 per person. Meals must be preordered.
1st & 5th November – Members’ Only Bonfire Nights
The Kennels at Goodwood is back with its famous bonfire experience, with tickets still available for the nights of Friday 1st and Tuesday 5th November. As well as fireworks, there will be face painting, marshmallow toasting, hot chocolate and mulled wine. There are two packages exclusively available to Goodwood members – field-only tickets (£40 adults, £20 children, under 3s go free), or dinner tickets (£85 adults, £40 children, to include field access followed by a seasonal three-course dinner in The Kennels dining room).
8th November – Gong Bath
If just the thought of the upcoming festive season leaves you feeling frazzled, ease yourself into November with a gong bath session. Serenity Through Sound will bring its magical aural healing to the Rowland Rank Centre on Aldwick Road on Friday 8th November, starting at 6:50pm. Up to nine gongs, Himalayan bowls and percussion instruments will encourage you to relax and enter a meditative state. The session costs £16.96 per attendee.
16th November – Adult Christmas Pottery Painting
Calling all creatives and crafters in the city. Popolo Ceramico Chichester and Arun is coming to John Lewis in Chichester to run an adult’s pottery painting event (children aged 14 and over to be accompanied by an adult). The session will run on Saturday 16th November, between 2:30pm and 4:30pm. Guests will be guided through painting their own Christmas platter, with all materials, resources and a hot drink included in the £45 ticket price. Advance booking is essential.
17th November – Bognor Winter Market
Is it ever too early to get into the Christmas spirit? We don’t think so! Find a healthy dose of festive cheer at Bognor Winter Market, which takes place on Sunday 17th November at The Gordon Centre on Canada Grove. More than 30 crafters will be selling their produce, plus there will be warming food, craft workshops and a Santa’s Grotto. Admissions to the market, which runs from 10am until 2pm, is free, with advance grotto bookings priced at £7.50.
22nd November – Comedy Night
End the working week on a high by booking a ticket to The Comedy Rooms’s takeover of Venue 24 at The Pier, Bognor Regis. On the bill are Marlon Davis, who has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Adam Morrison, who has supported Romesh Ranganthan, and legendary storyteller Patrick Carmody. The bar will run late into the night. Doors open at 7pm for pre-show drinks, with comedy tickets starting from £12.

Festivities include a pop up food market, a light show, a snow machine, a starlight trail, stilt walkers, live music and a Christmas tree trail. The fun culminates with the cast of Chichester Festival Theatre’s Cinderella at the Assembly Rooms officially switching on the lights at 5pm.
23rd November – The Afterparty

The city’s restaurants, pubs and bars will run themed events, festive menus, live music and Christmas cocktails from 5pm until late. Venues taking part include The Havana, The Eastgate Inn, The Chantry, The Chichester Inn and The Vestry.
